Job Overview
As a Technical Writer –
Graduate Trainee, you’ll create rich technical content to help users of
Calix products succeed in their roles. This includes network engineers,
broadband operations technicians, customer support reps, marketers, and systems
integrators. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with teams
to deliver high-quality technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
·
Develop
content for technical publications across all phases of production (scoping,
planning, writing, editing, publishing).
·
Research and
gather information from specifications, engineering wikis, and subject matter
experts.
·
Collaborate
with teams to create and refine technical content for customer success.
·
Use web UI and
command line interfaces to develop configurations and user material.
·
Promote
consistency and adhere to established styles, conventions, and quality
standards.
Qualifications
·
Master’s degree from an accredited university (Technical Writing or English major
preferred).
·
Excellent
written and oral communication skills.
·
Strong
academic performance and technical aptitude.
·
Ability to
convey complex technical concepts concisely and effectively.
·
Strong
initiative, problem-solving skills, and self-driven research capabilities.
·
Availability
to start in May/June 2025 for a one-year program (with
possible extension).
Preferred Qualifications
·
Experience
with workplace collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams.
·
Proficiency in
creating technical illustrations using tools like draw.io, Lucidchart,
Visio, or Photoshop.
