Introduction:
Dow offers
an exciting opportunity for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in
engineering to work on cutting-edge projects in a collaborative, international
environment. Interns will engage in diverse technical roles, gaining hands-on
experience in real-world projects across various departments, including
Electrical, Civil, Instrument Design, Process Automation, and Engineering Tool
Excellence.
Internship Responsibilities
Electrical Department:
·
Electrical design and detailed engineering for
process plants.
·
Power system studies and substation design.
·
Work on sizing, selection, and procurement of
electrical components (e.g., transformers, motors, UPS).
Civil, Structural,
and Buildings (CSB):
·
Work on industrial structural design and project
execution.
·
Collaborate with multifunctional teams on
construction techniques and civil project execution.
·
Gain insights into the latest construction methods
and innovations.
Instrument Design
Engineering:
·
Support projects in the capital project space.
·
Generate project design deliverables and interpret
P&IDs.
·
Focus on field instrument design, selection,
procurement, and installation.
Engineering Tool
Excellence:
·
Develop and maintain engineering tools using Python,
R, and C#.
·
Perform data research and provide analytics support.
·
Work on innovative tools and global improvement
projects.
Process Automation
Engineering:
·
Learn process control strategies and develop process
control graphics on DCS platforms.
·
Support tuning controllers and document learnings.
·
Collaborate on engineering activities to understand
process control concepts.
Eligibility and Qualifications
Must Have:
·
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program
in:
o Instrument Design Engineering
o Chemical/Process Engineering
o Electrical Engineering
o Civil Engineering
o Computer Science (CS) or Information Systems (IS)
·
No arrears/backlogs in previous semesters.
·
Proficiency in English, with strong communication
and analytical skills.
Desirable:
·
Experience with tools/software related to respective
departments.
·
Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
