Introduction:
Tenneco, a leading global manufacturer and distributor of automotive
products, is looking for Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) to join the Quality
team in Chennai. As a GET, you will play a crucial role in ensuring quality
compliance, addressing customer concerns, and supporting process improvement
initiatives. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in
quality management, process control, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Key Responsibilities
·
Customer Quality Assurance: Ensure customer rejection PPM
stays within the target.
·
Quality Monitoring: Oversee monthly PPM, First
Time Through (FTT) rates, and support Kaizen initiatives.
·
Audit and Compliance: Conduct internal audits,
address observations, and ensure compliance with IATF and customer audit
standards.
·
Problem Solving: Utilize quality tools such as PPAP, 8D, QC tools,
and QC stories to resolve issues and optimize processes.
·
Process Improvement: Implement poka-yoke
(mistake-proofing) techniques and other continuous improvement activities.
·
Team Development: Support the skill development of quality
inspectors by monitoring skill matrices and facilitating training.
·
Customer Communication: Complete PPAP submissions on
time and manage quality expectations for new product development (NPD).
Qualifications
·
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical,
Industrial, or related fields preferred).
·
Technical Skills:
o
Knowledge of PPAP, 8D, APQP, and QC tools.
o
Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies
such as Kaizen and poka-yoke.
·
Soft Skills:
o
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving
skills.
o
Ability to work collaboratively and meet project
deadlines.
·
Other: Willingness to meet Tenneco's quality standards, including maintaining
zero customer PPM and adherence to daily KPIs.
