Introduction
Google is
offering an exciting opportunity for final-year students in Electronics
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields to
join as Hardware Engineering Interns for the Winter 2025 program.
This 22-24 week internship, starting in January 2025, will provide
hands-on experience in designing and developing next-generation consumer
hardware for Google-branded devices.
If you're
passionate about hardware design, eager to work on real-world projects, and
excited to be part of a world-leading tech company, this internship is for you.

Candidates should be available for a full-time commitment for the
internship's duration.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.·
Experience with hardware architecture and design
concepts.
·
Practical experience in hardware or electrical
engineering through internships, work, or personal projects.
·
Ability to communicate in English fluently, especially in
technical discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
·
Experience in SoC/ASIC Design, Design Verification, Physical
Design, or Design for Testability.
·
Familiarity with Verilog/HDL or System Verilog
coding.
·
Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, TCL,
or Python.
·
Knowledge of EDA tools and methodologies, including Lint,
CDC, Synthesis, and Formal Equivalence, as well as low-power
reduction techniques.
·
Ability to commit full-time for 6 months outside of
university term time.
About the Role
As a Hardware
Engineering Intern, you will be working with Google’s Consumer Hardware
Silicon division (gChips), which designs and develops custom chips (SoCs
and ASICs) for Google-branded devices. You will join a multi-disciplinary
team to solve complex hardware engineering problems and work on
cutting-edge technology aimed at improving user interaction with computing
devices. As part of this role, you will contribute to the design, verification,
and silicon implementation of power- and performance-optimized chips.
Key Responsibilities
·
Chip Design: Work with the team to design and develop
power- and performance-optimized chips for Google-branded hardware.
·
Design Verification: Contribute to the verification and silicon
implementation of consumer hardware chips.
·
Automation: Collaborate with local and remote teams to
automate design flows and streamline processes.
·
Prototyping: Participate in the design, analysis, and
prototyping of new hardware concepts for consumer products.
