Job Description
As a Power
Electronics Engineer - Trainee, you will be a part of the Electrical/Power
Electronics design team, focusing on the development of electronic hardware for
high-frequency, high-voltage generators. These generators are crucial for X-ray
generation applications. Your role will involve collaborating with
cross-functional teams, working on design improvements, and ensuring quality,
cost-efficiency, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
·
Design & Development: Work on the design and development of
high-frequency, high-voltage generators for X-ray applications, focusing on
performance, cost, and reliability.
·
Collaboration: Partner with hardware and software experts
to create effective designs and outputs for X-ray generators and power
distribution units.
·
Analysis & Simulation: Conduct necessary calculations, analysis,
and simulations to develop and evaluate power electronics design concepts,
including AC/DC and DC/AC converters.
·
Project Management: Independently manage assigned projects,
meeting all deliverables according to program requirements while adhering to
GE's quality management system.
·
Integration & Testing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams for
integration, testing, verification, and design transfer of new designs or
design changes.
·
Advanced Technology & Value Engineering: Work on diverse projects, including advanced
technology development, new product introduction, design changes, and value
engineering to enhance product reliability and performance.
Qualifications & Requirements
·
Education: ME/MTech in Electrical or Power Electronics.
·
Technical Skills:
o In-depth
understanding of power converters (Buck, Boost, Fly-back, etc.), high-frequency
operations, and resonant circuits.
o Experience
in small and large signal analysis for AC/DC or DC/AC converters, including PFC
circuits.
o Strong
fundamentals of EMI/EMC and filter design.
o Proficiency
with electronics design and simulation tools like Saber, MATLAB, PSpice,
Orcad, and Cadence.
o Knowledge
of power converter control using Bode and Nyquist plots, with added
advantage if familiar with DSP, embedded systems, mixed signal PCB design,
and fault debugging.
o Understanding
of PWA design principles and component selection guidelines is a plus.

Soft Skills:
o Effective
communication and collaboration skills.
o Strong
problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
o Ability
to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desired Characteristics
·
Experience with analog/power amplifiers, static compensators, and
active filters.
·
Familiarity with control theory, including analog and
digital controllers.
·
Practical knowledge in advanced power electronics applications,
such as resonant power converters and voltage multipliers.
