About the Team and the Role
The Tax
Data Solutions team at eBay is responsible for providing business
insights and high-impact analyses to the Tax function. The team focuses on
answering strategic and operational questions through data analytics,
process automation, and data science solutions. This role will
involve working closely with business units to identify key opportunities,
automate processes, and provide advanced data visualizations to drive
efficiencies and cost reduction.
What You Will Accomplish
As a Data
Analyst at eBay, your responsibilities will include:

Collaboration: Build partnerships with business units to
identify areas for impactful analytics and operational improvements.
·
Monitoring & Analysis: Establish monitoring frameworks for business
initiatives, ensuring the team is alerted to any issues.
·
Support & Data Requests: Assist in data requests and analysis for Tax
Audits.
·
Data Visualization: Develop advanced data visualizations and insight-driven
analytics to communicate findings effectively.
·
Performance Monitoring: Measure and report on the performance of
features and programs post-launch, providing feedback to product and business
teams.
·
Promote Self-Serve Analytics: Educate partners on key reports, data, and
best practices to foster a self-serve analytics culture.
·
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other business functions
like Customer Services, Legal, and Finance to ensure visibility
and alignment across functions.
What You Will Bring
·
Intellectual Curiosity & Problem-Solving: A passion for solving problems and the
ability to work comfortably with ambiguity.
·
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency
in SQL for data analysis and process development.
o Experience
with data visualization tools like Tableau.
o Knowledge
of Python and Alteryx is advantageous.
o Experience
with big data tools (Hadoop, Teradata) and agile development is
beneficial.
·
End-to-End Analytics Experience: Ability to define problems, gather
information, analyze results, and communicate insights effectively.
·
Commercial Awareness: Capable of translating commercial
requirements into software solutions.
·
Independence & Team Collaboration: Able to work independently while being a
part of a global tax team.
Qualifications
·
Experience: Fresh graduates with a background in data
analytics, computer science, information technology, or related fields are
encouraged to apply. Experience in SQL, Python, and big data tools
is a plus.

Analytical Mindset: Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving
skills.
·
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication
abilities.

Agile Methodology: Familiarity with agile development
