Job Description:
As a Junior
Localization Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing files for
translation and working on them post-translation. The role involves handling a
variety of file formats such as MS Office, XML, InDesign, and proprietary
formats, as well as managing large text datasets. Engineers will be tasked with
solving unique technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Who Should Apply?
This
position is ideal for fresh computer science graduates or junior web developers
who enjoy solving technical puzzles. Candidates should be technically
proficient in data manipulation and transformation between structured formats
like HTML and XML, with a willingness to learn and tackle diverse
tasks.
Key
Requirements:

A degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field.
·
Familiarity with IT systems, desktop publishing software,
website development, or multimedia.
·
Experience with various software packages.
·
Knowledge of XML/HTML.
·
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
·
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
·
Willingness to work after hours when required.
Desirable
Qualities:

Basic JavaScript knowledge.
·
Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Windows
Scripting Host (js, vbs), or Perl.

Knowledge of Regular Expressions and query languages like SQL
or XSL.
·
Prior experience in the localization industry is an
advantage.
Responsibilities:
·
Pre-processing and post-processing files for translation.
·
Defining and preparing tools, processes, and files for software
globalization.
·
Assisting in defining the localization scope of source and support
files.
·
Using localization tools to prepare files for translation.
·
Collaborating with team members to resolve engineering issues.
·
Supporting Project Managers in day-to-day tasks.
