Role Overview: Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer at Volvo, you will work with a Platform Team to design, implement, and maintain a Kubernetes platform that supports development, operations, and security teams. Your work will include writing well-tested code, improving the developer experience, and gathering user feedback to ensure the platform meets business needs.

Location: Bangalore

Experience: Open to all levels

Key Responsibilities:

·         Platform Development: Design and maintain a scalable Kubernetes platform using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps practices.

·         Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure the platform is user-friendly, secure, and supports business objectives.

·         Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues while ensuring continuous improvement based on user feedback.

·         Cloud Integration: Develop and maintain cloud-native systems with a focus on AWS, Azure, and other CNCF tools.

Required Technologies:

·         Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure

·         Container Management: Kubernetes, Helm

·         IaC & GitOps Tools: Terraform, ArgoCD, FluxCD, Crossplane

·         Monitoring Tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos

·         Service Mesh: Istio

·         Security & Automation: Cert-Manager, HashiCorp Vault

·         Other Technologies: Cluster-autoscalar, CI/CD tools

Good to Have:

·         Networking: Cilium CNI, Calico CNI

·         API & Identity Management: Cluster API, Dex, Harbor, Entra ID

·         Cloud Security & Backup: Prisma Cloud, Velero

Who You Are:

·         A curious and passionate engineer who values user experience and software engineering best practices.

·         Experience working in cloud-based environments and familiar with Platform Engineering principles.

·         Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

·         You have experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and are eager to work with Kubernetes and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
