About the Curriculum Development Specialist Role
Job Summary
As part of the Punjab Government’s Schools of
Applied Learning (SoAL) initiative, TEA is looking for a highly motivated
Curriculum Development Specialist. This initiative is designed to upgrade
vocational education for senior secondary students by focusing on skill-based
training in trades like Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI),
Digital Design, Beauty & Wellness, and Healthcare Sciences.
Your primary focus will be on the Beauty and
Wellness trade, particularly in creating curriculum materials for two
specialized subjects: Hairstyling and Salon Management. These
courses aim to equip students with the skills necessary to succeed in the
beauty and wellness industry.
Key Responsibilities
As a Curriculum Development Specialist, your core
responsibilities will include:
1.
Curriculum Content Development: Collaborating
with educational experts to create learning materials for Hairstyling and Salon
Management. The goal is to make content engaging, interactive, and aligned with
industry standards.
2.
Content Review and Refinement: Continuously
reviewing and updating existing materials to ensure they meet evolving industry
demands and pedagogical best practices.
3.
Assessment Design: Developing
comprehensive assessment frameworks and sample papers for formative and
summative evaluations.
4.
Collaboration: Working closely
with stakeholders, including the Punjab School Education Board and knowledge
partners, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content.
Expected Outcomes
Over the contract period (October 2024 to March
2025), you will:

Develop 13 student materials (8 for
Hairstyling and 5 for Salon Management).

Create teacher handbooks (review 4
existing handbooks and develop 9 new ones).

Design assessment sample papers that
align with board standards.
Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will
have:

A background in instructional design,
especially in vocational education (preferred but not mandatory).

Strong understanding of educational
psychology and effective learning methodologies.
·
Basic project management skills,
including coordination and planning.
·
Proficiency in Punjabi is a plus.
·
Willingness to work out of Chandigarh or
Mohali for in-person meetings.
Compensation and Work Arrangement
This position offers a flexible work arrangement,
primarily remote but with occasional travel for in-person meetings. The
contract runs from October 2024 to March 2025, with the potential for
extension based on performance.
