 Introduction:

Are you a fresh graduate looking to begin your career in network engineering? Movate is offering an excellent opportunity to join as a Network Engineer (L1) in Chennai. This position will provide hands-on experience troubleshooting and diagnosing network issues while ensuring customer satisfaction in a dynamic, global environment.

About the Role:

As a Network Engineer (L1) at Movate, you will be responsible for troubleshooting network-related issues, ensuring that customer problems are resolved effectively. The role requires a strong understanding of network protocols and involves working with international customers, escalating cases to L2/L3 TAC when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Troubleshoot and Diagnose: Resolve Level 1 customer issues related to network configurations and product codes.

·         Customer Support: Ensure consistent satisfaction by resolving problems effectively and maintaining communication in the CRM system.

·         Escalation: Escalate cases requiring further technical expertise to L2/L3 support teams.

·         Documentation: Accurately record all communications and troubleshooting steps.

Primary Skills & Technical Expertise:

·         OSI Layers: Deep understanding of all OSI layers and the protocols that operate at each level.

·         TCP/IP: In-depth knowledge of windowing and handshake mechanisms in TCP/IP.

·         MAC & IP Headers: Ability to explain and work with MAC and IP headers, and how switches and routers use this information for decisions.

·         ARP: Understanding of how ARP operates in Layer 2 and Layer 3 communication.

·         MAC & ARP Tables: Clear understanding of how switches use MAC address tables and ARP tables.

·         Routing Table: Expertise in reading and understanding Routing Table fields.

·         DHCP: Complete understanding of DORA process and DHCP operation in both Layer 2 and Layer 3 scenarios.

·         Broadcast & Collision Domains: In-depth understanding of Broadcast and Collision Domains.

·         Traffic Types: Clear differentiation between Unicast, Multicast, and Broadcast traffic.

·         Subnetting, VLAN, and VTP: Strong knowledge of Subnetting, VLAN, VTP, 802.1q, STP, and Link Aggregation.

·         Routing Protocols: Detailed understanding of RIP (v1 and v2), OSPF, and their respective communication methods, including link states, LSA types, and routing areas.

·         Routing vs Routed Protocols: Clear knowledge of the differences between Routing and Routed protocols.

·         Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot effectively from Level 1 to Level 7 of the OSI model.
