Support Associate Engineer
Location: Bangalore,
India (Remote work option available)
As a Cloud Support
Associate Engineer at Canonical, you will play a crucial role in supporting
Ubuntu and other open-source products. This role is ideal for hands-on
engineers with a passion for Linux, cloud technologies, and
technical problem-solving. You'll handle real-world cloud and Linux issues,
delivering high-quality customer support for Canonical’s enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities:
·
Provide
technical support for Canonical’s cloud products through calls, emails, and web
tickets.
·
Troubleshoot
complex issues in Cloud environments, Linux kernel crashes, and OS
configurations.
·
Collaborate
with internal teams and senior engineers for case escalations and issue
resolution.
·
Contribute
to creating and updating knowledge base articles for internal and
external use.
·
Ensure
customer satisfaction by managing cases efficiently and maintaining
communication.
·
Participate
in the on-call weekend support rotation as required.
·
Learn
and stay updated with the latest Ubuntu development processes and cloud
technologies.
Qualifications:
·
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering, or a
related technical field.
·
Proficiency
in Linux server administration and Linux troubleshooting.
·
Basic
knowledge of Cloud computing, containers, virtualization,
and networking.
·
Experience
with scripting languages like bash, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript,
C/C++, or Go.
·
Excellent
verbal and written communication skills in English.
·
Ability
to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
·
Experience
with virtualization technologies (e.g., KVM, VMware).
·
Knowledge
of open-source desktop technologies and contributions to open-source
projects.
