Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to prepare test cases and perform testing of the product/platform/solution to be deployed at a client end and ensure it meets 100% quality assurance parameters.

Key Responsibilities

Instrumental in Understanding Test Requirements

1. Test Case Design and Implementation: Understand the test requirements and design test cases accordingly.

2. Test Planning: Author test plans with knowledge of business requirements and corresponding testable requirements.

3. Model-Based Testing: Implement Wipro's testing methodology using model-based testing for efficient test generation.

4. Peer Review: Ensure test cases are peer-reviewed to minimize rework.

5. Work Coordination: Collaborate with the development team to identify and capture test cases, ensuring proper version control.

6. User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Set criteria, parameters, scope, and involvement in UAT.

7. Automation: Automate test life cycle processes through VB macros, scheduling, GUI automation, etc.

Design and Execute Automation Framework

1. Software Validation: Develop and automate tests for software validation by setting up test environments, designing test plans, developing test cases/scenarios, and executing these cases.

2. Defect Management: Ensure test defects are raised per project norms with clear descriptions and replication patterns.

3. Bug Detection: Detect bugs, prepare defect reports, and report test progress.

4. Quality Assurance: Ensure no rejection or slippage of delivered work items and adherence to Wipro/Customer SLAs and norms.

5. Test Reporting: Design and release test status dashboards at the end of each test cycle to stakeholders.

6. Feedback: Provide feedback on usability and serviceability, trace results to quality risks, and report to stakeholders.

Status Reporting and Customer Focus

1. Customer Interaction: Maintain good quality interaction with customers regarding email content, fault report tracking, voice calls, business etiquette, etc.

2. Timely Deliveries: Ensure timely delivery of Weekly Status Reports (WSRs), test execution reports, and relevant dashboard updates in the Test Management Repository.

3. Accurate Reporting: Update accurate efforts in eCube, TMS, and other project-related trackers.

4. Responsive Communication: Ensure timely responses to customer requests and avoid complaints both internally and externally.

Lead Test Engineer and Project Manager: Regular reporting and updates.
Software Developers: Work coordination and support in providing testing solutions.

External Stakeholders

Clients: Provide apt solutions and support as per the requirement.
