Huntsman is seeking an Associate
Scientist supporting the Polyurethane - Elastomers Division located in Derry
New, Hampshire. This position will report to the Team Leader Product R&D.
As the Associate Scientist you
will:
- Work with senior scientist in TPU formulation
development.
- Establish technical documentation, including
technical report, New Product introduction and product datasheet.
- Operate and maintain laboratory polymer testing
equipment that support new product development and technical service
objectives.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to
internal (sales and marketing) and external customers when required.
- Maintain and promote a safe work environment by
complying with all site safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry,
Chemical/Plastics Engineering, or Material Science discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in the above key
accountabilities and responsibilities.
- Preferably experienced in the following polymer
testing equipment: Instron, DSC, DMA, TMA, FTIR, Capillary
Rheometer, Colorimeter, DIN Abrasion, QUV and Xenon Weatherometer.
- Preferably some knowledge in thermoplastic
polyurethane and formulation development.
- Technical and problem-solving ability.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
