Job Description
We are looking for a passionate graduate engineer to join our global
engineering team at John Crane. The person would work in close coordination
with Sales and service Engineers to deliver complete mechanical solutions for
different applications. The responsibilities would include the entire journey
of a new Mechanical seal Design including Conceptualization, CAD designs,
Drawings, Fabrication, Assembly, and Production Readiness.
Eagerness to learn design, assembly and application aspects of seals is
critical.
The ideal candidate would not look at responsibility boundaries or scope of
work but push relentlessly to ensure a quality product, on-time. A sense of
pride and ownership in the product is a must.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Review & processing of customer or sales
requests from across the globe.
- Providing seal upgrade or repair solutions to
customer/global sales teams.
- Following standard techniques and procedures, selection
/ application of standard products to meet customers needs, including
seals and fluid control products.
- Creation of component drawings and assembly
drawings using CAD.
- Perform engineering calculations as required.
- Prepare material and other relevant product
specifications for internal and external use
- Field troubleshooting, including analysis of
problems / recommendation & implementation of appropriate solutions,
meeting with customers in plant or at customer's site to resolve
satisfactorily.
- Approve / reject purchase or manufacture of
fabricated parts not to drawing specification.
- Additional duties as assigned.

The Individual
- B. Tech / B.E in
Mechanical/Chemical/Aeronautical/Material Science with good academic
record (typically 65% or more in B Tech) YOP : 2020-2021
- Proficiency in CAD and knowledge of GD&T
and drawings is preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of PC and MS office tools.
- Strong self-motivation, willingness to learn
and work ethics.
- Prior exposure to petrochemical
engineering/rotating equipment industry/R&D in interns is an added
advantage.
- Exposure to FEA is preferable.
