Job Description and Requirements	FPGA group in Synopsys delivers a number of products such as Synplify Pro, Synplify Premier, Certify and Identify. These products are widely used in the industry for implementation of FPGA designs, prototyping and debugging of ASICs using FPGAs. Logic synthesis software, which is part of Synplify Pro and Synplify Premier products, is the industry standards for producing high-performance, cost-effective FPGA designs. Performance of the Synplify software measured in terms of runtime and memory consumption is critical to success of this product. Role and responsibilities: An intern in this position will be involved in analyzing memory and runtime intensive code in the Synplify mapper codebase and come up with solutions for improvements.  This will involve analyzing memory allocations, memory leaks and cyclometric complexity of different pieces of the code and make necessary changes to improve them. Expected background: The person is expected to have B. Tech or M. Tech degree in Computer Science (CS) from a reputed institute. Final year student doing Master’s thesis in CS will be preferred. The person should have good background in C programming, data structures and algorithms and working knowledge of Unix OS.
