Cable Station Operations Engineer:  (L1)
  1. Position Summary:
Cable station operations engineer position is mainly responsible for Operation & Maintenance of dry plant and wet plant equipments at landing station. Traffic monitoring and fault analysis and its rectification. Call Handling & Complaints management. Planned and unplanned activities management and timely & regular updates. Compliance to JSMD Guidelines and maintaining MTTR. Active coordination with Cable stations NOCs, & vendors for resolving system related problems. Circuit provisioning, activation, De-activation and testing. Coordination with cross-functional teams to adhere to the defined processes

  1. Major Responsibilities: (C/S)

  • Operations of cable station equipments like SIE, SLTE, PFE and their NMS by proactively monitoring & escalation to respective CLS, NOCs & Suppliers for any Equipment failure and network faults.  Perform first level fault diagnosis, analyze and resolve equipment related problems within the specified time.
  • Maintaining Traffic uptime of submarine cables under purview as per assigned target.
  • Implement work orders, perform and coordinate for testing of new circuits with NOC and concerned C/s as per procedures.
  • Testing of restoration path & keeping ready in case of main connectivity path failure to reduce the outage on the restorable traffic.
  • Operation of the dry & wet plant Test equipments.
  • Manage escalations & Trouble Tickets. Timely coordination with cross functional team for proper & timely updates and RFO for planned & unplanned events.
  • Provisioning, O & M and reporting to be followed as per established standard processes.
  • Maintain relevant documents as per quality audit process guidelines.
  • Compliance to JSMD Guidelines.
  • Perform ‘Basic’ level Ancillary support services and escalate to Concern Team.
  • Perform preventive & corrective maintenance activities like taking daily power plant readings and coordinate with subcontractors whenever required for power plant maintenance.
  • Generation & submission of Reports related to systems & traffic.
  • Coordination with cross-functional teams to adhere to the defined processes.
  • Follow up with route patroller and to provide regular feedback to the System Engineer.
  • Coordination with cable & NOC during the cable repair activity.
